Bio

Alex Alexander is a Canadian-based author, philosophical thinker, and initiated member of the Mechanics Lodge, where he currently serves as Illustrative Grand. Born in 1964, Alex has spent decades exploring the deeper meanings behind esoteric traditions and symbolic teachings.

His writing focuses on non-fiction works crafted specifically for initiated Mechanics—books that seek to illuminate hidden knowledge and inspire intellectual growth within fraternal and philosophical communities.

His first work, An Initiated Mechanic's View of the Seven Liberal Arts and Sciences, draws upon the classical foundations of education, including Grammar, Logic, Rhetoric, Arithmetic, Geometry, Music, and Astronomy, to help readers uncover the intellectual and cognitive power of these disciplines. The book not only connects ancient educational models to the Mechanic's journey but also reaffirms their practical value in shaping the modern mind.

His second book, The Lost Keys of Mechanism, offers a thoughtful exploration of the ritual symbolism found within the degrees of Mechanism. Written in the spirit of friendship, truth, and love, it serves as a guide for those seeking to understand the concealed wisdom embedded in the initiatory path.

Alex began writing seriously in 1987, driven by a passion to educate others about traditions, concepts, and systems often overlooked or misunderstood. His work is grounded in lived experience and years of careful personal study. His background as an aircraft maintenance engineer and his interest in mechanical repair reflect his hands-on mindset, bridging the gap between symbolic and practical knowledge.

Through his books, Alex invites readers to embark on a journey of intellectual and spiritual refinement, offering a perspective that is both instructive and deeply personal. Whether uncovering hidden meanings in ritual or exploring classical learning, his goal remains constant: to guide others toward greater awareness, purpose, and self-understanding.
